Behavior
The Behavior page allows you to customize how your AI agent interacts with customers. From defining its persona to setting up lead capture, these settings dictate the tone and flow of every conversation.
Key Features
- System Prompt: Give your bot a specific persona, tone, and set of instructions to follow.
- Suggested Prompts: Provide users with clickable quick-replies when they first open the chat widget.
- Interactive Follow-ups: Automatically generate three dynamic follow-up questions at the end of AI responses to keep the conversation flowing.
- Lead Capture: Require users to provide their name and email address before starting a chat.
- Bot Language: Force the bot to speak a specific language or allow it to auto-detect the user's language.
How to Use
Customizing the System Prompt
Locate the System Prompt section and type your instructions into the text area. This tells the AI how to actβfor example, whether it should be formal, friendly, or strictly professional.
Managing Suggested Prompts
- Toggle the switch next to Suggested Prompts to enable or disable them. When enabled, these appear as clickable options when a user opens the chat.
- To add a new prompt, type your text into the input field and click the Add button (or press Enter).
- To remove an existing prompt, click the X icon next to the prompt you wish to delete.
Enabling Follow-ups & Lead Capture
- Interactive Follow-ups: Click the toggle switch to enable this feature. When active, the AI will automatically suggest 3 dynamic follow-up questions at the end of its response.
- Lead Capture: Click the toggle switch to force visitors to enter their name and email before they can start chatting.
Setting the Bot Language
Use the Bot Language dropdown menu at the bottom of the page to control how your bot communicates. You can force it to respond in a specific language (English, Spanish, French, German) or leave it on Auto-detect so it automatically responds in the language the user types in.
Important Notes
- Permissions: Only workspace owners can make changes to the Behavior settings. If you are an agent, these fields will be disabled.
